The REEPRODUCE project was present at the REEsilience Conference!
On Thursday, March 28th, the REEPRODUCE project was present at the REEsilience Conference organised by The Global Rare Earth Industry Association (REIA) in Brussels.
The event gathered key stakeholders and research experts spanning the entire rare earth value chain, fostering insightful discussions and presentations. The central focus revolved around meeting the targets outlined in the Critical Raw Materials Act by 2030, exploring technical, economic and ecological solutions to achieve these ambitious goals. Additionally, the conference aimed to promote sustainable practices that enhance the resilience and self-autonomy of the rare earth sector in Europe, ensuring its competitiveness in the global market.
On behalf of the REEPRODUCE project, Nader Akil (EU Business Operations Manager, PNO Innovation Belgium), participated in the panel discussion focusing on the outcomes of European projects within the rare earth sector and their contributions towards meeting the Critical Raw Material Act targets. The panel was moderated by Peter Tome Jones (KULeuven) alongside representatives from Inspires, FutuRAM, Magellan and REEPRODUCE.
The discussion emphasised the pivotal role of innovation and research in addressing the challenges associated with rare earth technologies in Europe.
