Significant progress in advancing recycling technologies for devices containing Nd-magnets.

In December 2024, the REEPRODUCE consortium met in Helmond at Bronneberg B.V.’s premises.

The consortium engaged in productive discussions around key objectives, strategies and next steps to ensure the success of our collaborative efforts.

During the first half of the project, significant progress has been made in advancing recycling technologies for devices containing Neodymium (Nd) magnets. The REEPRODUCE consortium initiated demonstration phases, focusing on validating innovative recycling processes across multiple facilities in Europe. At this stage the consortium has successfully constructed five pilots (TRL7) and carried out demonstration trials in two of them,  marking a significant step forward in achieving the project’s objective.

The partners had the opportunity to visit Bronneberg B.V.’s facilities to explore the innovative pilots that FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg (Institute FAPS) and Bronneberg have developed to extract Nd-based magnets blocks from different components of selected end-of-life products, with validation planned for early 2025.

Exciting times ahead as we work together to drive innovation and deliver impactful results!
