During the first six months of the REEPRODUCE project, CEIT  and Indumetal Recycling have researched different robot options for future testing.

Indumetal Recycling has acquired the new TX2-140 industrial robot from Stäubli. This is a high-performance and large robot that can exert the forces and/or pairs necessary for the tasks that the consortium will perform in the process of disassembling products.

Some of these tasks require high forces and torques to unscrew as well as to separate elements bound by magnetic fields. At present, CEIT has made progress in dismantling “covers” and drilling with smaller robots. But, thanks to this new automatic tool exchanger, CEIT will be able to start designing the strategies of unscrewing and integrating all activities.
